CARIS at the Palace

On Tuesday 25th June 2019, the work of CARIS Haringey was recognised at a reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the work of UK faith and belief groups in bringing local communities together. Staff member, Jane Young, had the honour of representing CARIS and meeting Her Majesty the Queen.

CARIS stands for Christian Action and Response in Society. As an organisation, we are committed to expressing God’s love through social action. Our services are available to families of all faiths and none. Through our work, we seek to live out our values of justice and mercy for those in need. We are proud to serve Haringey’s diverse community and to bring people together from many different faiths, cultures and backgrounds.

The Queen has spoken many times about the importance of her own Christian faith.
In her 2002 Christmas broadcast she said:
“I know just how much I rely on my own faith to guide me through the good times and the bad. Each day is a new beginning, I know that the only way to live my life is to try to do what is right… And to put my trust in God.”
